Bleu-blanc-noir supporters have recently voted for the Club's Player of the Month for August and their choice was forward Prince Owusu.
The striker stood out on several occasions in August, scoring four goals in four matches. He first found the net on August 1 in a 2-2 draw against the New England Revolution at Stade Saputo, before striking again at home on August 15 against D.C. United in a 1-1 draw. He then opened the scoring at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field as Philippe Eullaffroy’s side earned a 2-1 victory over the Columbus Crew. Finally, he scored a late equalizer against the LA Galaxy at Stade Saputo, helping his team secure a valuable point.
Montreal’s number 9 succeeds goalkeeper Sébastian Breza, who earned the honour in July. The Ghanaian international forward claims his third monthly award of the season, having previously been named Player of the Month in both April and May.
The winning voting recipient of an autographed Owusu jersey will soon be announced on the contest dedicated page.
