Preview: Academy teams in action this weekend

Impact U16 home opener Team

Impact U16 / U18


The Impact U18 and U16 teams will play a double header this weekend as they are set to face the New York Red Bulls, Sunday, September 30 at the Claude-Robillard Sports Complex. The U18’s will play at 12pm (ET), followed by the U16’s at 2:30pm (ET). The game is open to the public and admission is free.


The U16 side is in a three-way tie for first in the Northeast Division of the US Soccer Development Academy, with a 2-1-0 record, having won its last game 6-0 versus FC Westchester.


The U18 squad earned a 3-3 draw in its last game versus the same club, and sits in fourth place in the Eastern Division of the USSDA.


Next Game

The Montreal Impact USSDA Academy teams will travel to Newark, New Jersey on Saturday, October 6, to take on the BW Gottschee Academy at Lubetkin Field. The U18s play at 3pm (ET) while the U16s play at 5:30pm (ET).


Impact U21


The Montreal Impact U21 team will try to improve upon its five-game winning streak on as it travels to Toronto this weekend to play two games in two days.


The Impact will be facing the North York Astros (2-17-1) on Saturday, at 4:30pm (ET) at Esther Shiner Stadium, then the York Region Shooters (9-1-10) Sunday, at 6:30pm (ET) at St. Joan of Arc.


In their previous game, the Impact U21s earned a convincing 6-1 win over the Brantford Galaxy last weekend. Forwards Mircea Ilcu and Victor Ndiaye both scored braces, while midfielder Wandrille Lefevre and Zakaria Messoudi recorded a goal each.


Next Game

The Montreal Impact U21 team will have their final home game of the regular season on Sunday, October 7 at 2pm (ET). They will play against SC Toronto (13-2-4) at the Claude Robillard Sports Complex. The game will be open to the public and admission is free.
