Portugal FC scored the first goal of the game in the 34th minute. From a through pass into the 18-yard box, Jarek Whiteman controlled the ball then let a precise high shot that beat Academy goalkeeper Dominic Provost to his right.



Portugal FC then scored in the 45th minute, when Luca Forno was left alone to beat Provost, who had advanced to the top of the six-meter line.



“We have the result that we deserved, we did not play well today,” stated Academy head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. “Some of our young players have to understand that they have to do more on the field.”



The Montreal Impact Academy was playing its second of four consecutive matches at Saputo Stadium. The Impact reserve team will play its next game on Saturday, August 14, at 1 pm, against the Brampton Lions, at Saputo Stadium.
