Last weekend, just after supervising the second round of the Impact sport-study tryouts, Academy director Philippe Eullaffroy and Impact U18 head coach Yoann Damet flew to Fredericton, New Brunswick, to offer a presentation at the 8th Annual Coaches Symposium.
“Philippe presented the Academy’s development philosophy and I presented the Pre-Academy organization,” said Yoann Damet. “The goal was to introduce the club’s development structure and show the organization, the way we work, the tools and our methodology.”
In the symposium, other panellists were there with Eullaffroy and Damet, including the new Director of Development for Soccer Canada, Jason deVos.
“The reception we got from the coaches at the event and from the Soccer New Brunswick staff was really warm,” added Damet. “We wanted to give information representing our reality at the Montreal Impact Academy, but that the coaches can also take with them to work in their clubs.”
Last year, a few months before officialising a partnership with Soccer New Brunswick, two other Academy staff members, Antoine Guldner and Owen Braun, went to Fredericton to make presentations at the same annual symposium.
