MONTREAL – Montreal-Nord Pumas won the final of the International U14 Qualification Tournament, presented by Nutrilait, by the score of 2-0 against CS Saint-Laurent, on Sunday evening at Centre Nutrilait. The team thus qualified for the International U14, presented by the Fédération des producteurs d’oeufs du Québec, from June 29 to July 2, also at Centre Nutrilait.
In the final, Samuel D Cuenu Longa scored twice, including a penalty, to help his team win the tournament and lift the trophy.
Montreal-Nord kept a perfect record in the tournament, winning its seven games in two days. The team won 2-0 against AS Hull in the round of 16, 3-0 against Lakeshore in the quarterfinal stage, and 1-0 against Rebelles de l’Est in the semifinals.
CS Saint-Laurent finished second, while AS Saint-Lambert won the third place final 1-0 against Rebelles de l’Est.
At the International U14, Montreal-Nord Pumas will have the opportunity to face some of six MLS teams, which are the Montreal Impact, D.C. United, Chicago Fire, Atlanta United FC, New England Revolution and Houston Dynamo, as well as Bologna FC, from Serie A.
