MONTREAL – In collaboration with Olympic Park, the Montreal Impact announced Wednesday that its Soccer Schools (EDS) will visit the Olympic Stadium, on May 12, in the morning, just prior to the game against the LA Galaxy, reigning MLS Cup champions.
Youth soccer players (U6 to U16) could take advantage of a 90-minute training session on the very same field that will be used by the pros a few hours later, when the Impact take on the likes of star players David Beckham, Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan, at 4 pm (ET).
“Thanks to our partnership with Olympic Park, we are very pleased to give young players the chance to play on the Impact’s field just hours before a major event, the LA Galaxy’s visit to Montreal,” said the Impact executive vice-president Richard Legendre. “We are proud to contribute to the development of future Quebec soccer players via the Impact’s Soccer Schools.”
“We offer a number of programs throughout the year, but this one will be particularly special,” said Olivier Brett, director of the Impact Soccer Schools. “It will be an incredible experience and a magical moment for young soccer players in Quebec.”
The kids will benefit from an opportunity to learn from our highly trained Academy coaches and players from the U21 team.
In a fun-filled learning environment, the camp will provide young soccer players with an accelerated apprenticeship, with technical, tactical a physical training.
The clinic will also shed some light on the life of the Montreal Impact and professional sports via a private question and answer session with the coaches. A photo and autograph session will also be organized.
Each participant will receive a free ticket for the game against the Galaxy, a soccer ball, a t-shirt and a rebate coupon for use at the Impact boutique. A limited time 3-day registration offer, between 10am, Wednesday morning and 11:59pm, Friday night, will tender two tickets for the game against the LA Galaxy instead of just one.
For more information or to register at a cost of $97 (plus taxes), click on the Soccer Schools’ link via the Academy’s website: AcademieImpactMontreal.com.
SPRING CLINICS ARE BACK
In parallel to this event, the EDS have added new services in order to satisfy the clientele. As such, on top of our regular calendars at the Leonardo Da Vinci Sports Centre, the EDS are proud to add programs on Montreal’s west side, more precisely, at the West Island Club, in Beaconsfield.
The Impact will play its next two games on the road; first versus the New York Red Bulls this Saturday at 4pm (ET). The game will be broadcast live on TSN and RDS, and is available on illico Mobile. The club will then visit Real Salt Lake on April 4.
The Impact will then play its next home game on April 7 against its Canadian rivals, Toronto FC, at noon (ET). Season tickets are available online at impactmontreal.com or by calling 514-328-3668 while individual tickets for the home opener and all five games presented at Olympic Stadium are also available through the Admission network.
