MONTREAL – CF Montréal announced Monday that Quebec-born midfielder Tomas Giraldo will undergo foot surgery this Tuesday in Green Bay, Wisconsin. As a result, he will be unavailable for the remainder of the season.
Giraldo suffered a fracture to the fifth metatarsal of his left foot, commonly known as a “Jones fracture,” in training last Tuesday.
In order to ensure a successful surgery and optimal rehabilitation conditions, Giraldo will be operated on by Dr. Robert B. Anderson, a sports medicine surgeon specializing in feet and ankles.
A leader in his field and recognized internationally for his work with professional athletes across North America’s major sports leagues, Dr. Anderson's patients have included Shea Weber, Kevin Durant and Patrick Mahomes.
