MONTREAL – Midfielder Jimmy-Shammar Sanon, currently playing with Ottawa Fury FC in the USL, was selected by Haiti for their upcoming friendly game against Japan, on October 10, in Yokohama. This represents his first call-up with the Haitian senior national team.

Formed at the Montreal Impact Academy, he played nine games in the USL this season, including one start, and scored a goal.

In 2016, with FC Montreal in the USL, Sanon scored one goal and got one assist in five games, including one start. His goal, scored against the Charleston Battery, was voted the 2016 USL Goal of the Year.

Sanon will join another former Academy player, Jems Geffrard, who also got his first call-up with the Haitian national team.
