Members’ choice awards – April Goal and Player of the Month awards revealed

Choix membres IMFC

Montreal Impact members seem steadfast in their beliefs.

As he did in March, Ignacio Piatti won the award for Goal of the Month in April, while Laurent Ciman successfully defended his Player of the Month title. 53 percent of IMFC members voted for Piatti’s goal, while Ciman picked up 78 percent of the vote.

Nacho impressed the electorate with his April 16 goal in Chicago. Fed by Dominic Oduro on the edge of the area, Piatti curled a spectacular strike that Fire goalkeeper Matt Lampson was powerless on. Scored in second-half stoppage time, the goal gave the Impact a 2-1 win.

Building on his performances is what Laurent Ciman does. A consistent force since joining MLS, the Belgian defender once again played 90 minutes in every Impact game last Month. At ease no matter who his central defence colleague is – Víctor Cabrera or Wandrille Lefèvre –, Ciman remains among the MLS elite.
