MONTREAL – Montreal Impact defender Wandrille Lefèvre, as well as midfielders Kyle Bekker and Maxim Tissot, have been selected by the Canadian National Team to take part in a friendly against Ghana on October 13 at RFK Stadium, in Washington.

This is the first ever call up for Wandrille Lefèvre with the Canadian selection, after becoming a Canadian citizen on July 2.

Bekker has played 16 games with the Canadian national team, including 10 starts, and participating in the 2013 and 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He recorded his first career assist March 27 in a 1-0 win against Guatemala. He made his debut with the Reds on January 26, 2013, against Denmark.

Tissot has played seven games, including four starts with Canada, making his debut on January 16, 2015, against Iceland. He earned his first invitation in November 2014, in a friendly against Panama, but did not play. He recently started one game in the CONCACAF Gold Cup tournament.

Canada is currently preparing for the next round of FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, which kicks off on November 13 at BC Place, in Vancouver, against Honduras. The team will then face El Salvador four days later in San Salvador.
