MONTREAL – Montreal Impact defender Karl W. Ouimette and goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau, from the first team, and midfielder Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé, from the club’s U23, have been selected by the Canadian men’s national team for the first training camp of 2014, from January 12 to 22, in Sunrise, Florida.

Ouimette earns his second consecutive selection with the senior men’s team, after making his debut on November 19 against Slovenia. He had previously taken part in the U17 CONCACAF qualification tournament in Mexico as well as in the U17 World Cup in Nigeria, in 2009.

This is the first ever selection for Crépeau with the senior team, after playing at all levels with the Canadian program. He recently took part in the 2013 Francophone Games, in Nice, France, with the Canadian U21 team and started all three games for the Canadian U20 team in the 2013 CONCACAF U20 Championships, in Mexico. He also started six games for the Canadian U17 team, including one game in the World Cup.

It will also be a second invitation for Gagnon-Laparé. He played his first two games with the senior team last September, facing Mauritania both times. He also played four games with the Impact in MLS Reserve League action in 2013.
