After putting its season on pause since March 18, the U15, U17 and U19 teams resume their Development Academy games this weekend against the teams from BW Gottschee, in the State of New York, at the College of Staten Island. The Impact U15 will also play on Sunday against New York Soccer Club, on Manhattanville College’s field.
Saturday, the Impact U15 will play at 10am, the U17 team at 12:15pm and the U19 team at 2:30pm. On Sunday, the Impact U15 will play at 11:30am.
The U15 team just came back from Bologna, in Italy, where they played in the We Love Football tournament, while the U17 team was playing in the Generation adidas Cup in Dallas, finishing 3rd in the Premier Division.

Head-to-head
On November 5, the Impact won its three games against BW Gottschee Academy. The U15 won 3-1, the U17 2-1 and the U19 3-2.
The Impact U15 will face New York Soccer Club for the first time.
Opponent’s results
Just like the Impact’s teams, BW Gottschee is at the top of its division standings in all age groups.
The U15 are second of its group, in front of the Impact in third, with nine wins, three losses and three draws. Its top goalscorer, Paolo Primavera, has 13 goals in 15 games. Its last loss was against Montreal, on November 5.
The U17 team is top of its division, also in front of the Impact, with a 11-3-3 record, 41 goals scored and only 17 allowed in 17 games.
BW Gottschee U19 is third of its division, behind the Impact in first place and New York City FC in second place, with a 9-6-2 record. Forward Daquan Brown scored 13 goals in 17 games.
The New York Soccer Club only has one team in the U15 category and is seventh in the division with a 4-6-3 record.
About BW Gottschee Academy
Year after year, BW Gottschee’s teams are amongst the best in the Development Academy. The club was founded in 1951 by Austrian immigrants in Queens, New York. They wanted to feel at home by founding a soccer club.
Throughout the years, many players developed in this academy earned professional contracts in North America and Europe. One of them is Timothy Weah, the son of George Weah, 1995 Ballon d’Or winner. After playing with Gottschee, he joined the New York Red Bulls academy and then Paris Saint-Germain. He is also a player with the U17 United States national team.

New York Soccer Club was founded in 2009 and has its roots in Westchester County, in the State of New York. The club is also affiliated with New York City FC in MLS. Most of its players go on to join MLS club academies or American universities.
