Impact unveils its 2018 schedule

MONTREAL â€“ The Montreal Impact and Major League Soccer unveiled the 2018 regular season schedule on Thursday, the seventh in MLS club history and the 25th in club history. The regular season will hold a total of 34 games, of which 17 will take place at home, including the home opener at Olympic Stadium, and 17 on the road. All 34 games will be broadcast by TVA Sports.

The Bleu-blanc-noir will kick off its season with two games on the road, starting on Sunday, March 4, against the Whitecaps FC at BC Place, in Vancouver, at 6pm ET, before traveling to Ohio to face Columbus Crew SC at MAPFRE Stadium, on Saturday, March 10, at 1pm.


The Impact will play its home opener on Saturday, March 17, at 3pm at Olympic Stadium against Canadian rival Toronto FC.


The Impact will follow with three games on the road, starting against the Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, March 31 at 10pm ET, followed by the New England Revolution on Friday, April 6 at 7:30pm, and the New York Red Bulls on Saturday, April 14 at 1pm. The team will then return to Montreal to play its home opener at Stade Saputo on Saturday, April 21, against expansion club LAFC at 1pm.


The team will play 26 games on Saturdays and three on Sundays for a total of 29 games on weekend days, as well as five midweek games, including one on a Monday, three on Wednesdays and one on a Friday.


Other interesting matchups
The Impact will face Canadian rival Toronto FC two other times in 2018, on Saturday, August 25, at BMO Field in Toronto at 8pm, and then in Montreal on Sunday, October 21 (time to be determined).


The Impact will visit Minnesota United FC for the first time in its MLS history, on Saturday May 26 at 8pm ET.


The regular season will end on Sunday, October 28, when the Revolution hosts the Impact at Gillette Stadium at 4:30pm.
