The Impact U15 is back from Italy

IMFC Sampdoria

Last week, the Impact U15 took part in the We Love Football tournament in Bologna, Italy. Serge Dinkota’s team lost its three group games by only one goal, but still managed to enjoy an amazing experience.

In its first game of the tournament, Serge Dinkota’s team lost 1-0 against Atalanta B.C., who leads its group in the Italian championship. The day after, U.C. Sampdoria also beat the Impact 1-0. On the last day of the group stage, against Ajax Amsterdam, Serge Dinkota’s players scored their first goal off a penalty thanks to Tomas Giraldo, but they lost 2-1.

“The experience was sportingly and culturally rewarding,” said Impact U15 head coach Serge Dinkota. “We played in a tough group in which the two teams that qualified reached the semifinals.”

Despite the results, the players still learned a lot from this tournament in games that were remained tight until the very end.

The Montreal team also had the opportunity to play two friendly games. The first was against Bologna FC (Italy) before the tournament, and the second one against Shonan Bellmare (Japan) after the tournament.
