Impact U13 to enter Tournoi Sans Frontière in France

Sens U13 2

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact announced on Wednesday that its U13 team will take part in the 24th edition of the prestigious Tournoi Sans Frontière, from April 14 to 17, at Complexe sportif René Binet in Sens, France.

The Montreal Impact was drawn in group A with AS Saint-Étienne (Ligue 1), Pôle Espoirs de Dijon, and reigning champions Girondins de Bordeaux (Ligue 1).

“We are happy to have the chance to play in the Tournoi Sans Frontière,” said Impact U13 head coach Serge Dinkota. “It’s a perfect opportunity to measure our ideas and our play to high-level clubs. We want to give a good experience to the players before they make the jump with the U14s and we want to represent the Impact as best we can.”

The Bleu-blanc-noir will have the opportunity to take on soccer giants like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain as well as clubs from around the world like FC Tokyo (Japan), West Ham United (England), Servette Football Club 1890 (Switzerland) and Anhui Jiufang FC (China).

Thirteen French Ligue 1 clubs, three regional clubs and eight international clubs, for a total of 24 clubs, will participate in the tournament.

The Tournoi Sans Frontière is among the top competitions in France in this age category. High-level players such as Anthony Martial, Antoine Griezmann, Raphaël Varane and Vincent Kompany played in the Tournoi Sans Frontière as youngsters.
