Impact remains unbeaten against FC Greater Boston Bolts

12 mai

Last Saturday, the Montreal Impact was hosting the teams from FC Greater Boston Bolts at Centre Nutrilait. After winning its three games on the opponent’s fields earlier this season, the Impact remained unbeaten against Boston with a 1-1 draw at the U15 level, as well as 7-1 and 5-1 wins at the U17 and U19 levels respectively.

The Impact U15 draws 1-1

In what was a tight affair, Serge Dinkota’s team got one point in a 1-1 draw.

Boston had the game’s first chance, in the 3rd minute, with a shot from outside the box that flew just over the bar.

The Impact took the lead in the 35th minute, when Maël Henry scored after a few shots were blocked by the defenders.

In the second half, Boston equalized though a corner in the 45th minute.

The goalkeeper Hamida-Jed Hmida made some key saves in the second but, despite a few opportunities, the Impact wasn’t able to take the lead again against a high intensity Boston team.

The Impact U17 explodes offensively

After finding the back of the net early in the contest, the Impact U17 struggled but found its rhythm offensively and won 7-1 against FC Greater Boston Bolts.

It seemed the game could go both ways after 20 minutes, but once Calin Calaidjoglu scored in the 26th minute, the Bleu-blanc-noir’s offensive efficiency came through and wreaked havoc for Boston.

Mouhamadou Kane and Calaidjoglu added two goals before halftime, while Boston scored off a penalty.

Back from the locker room, Calaidjoglu added a goal, off a pass from Moulay Abdallah Kanzi Belghiti. Kane, Sean Rea and Gabriel Capano-Gauthier scored the next three goals in a 7-1 win.

Nicolas Gagnon’s team is currently first in its group and has scored 25 goals in its last five games.

Impact U19 wins 5-1

It took a bit more time for the Impact U19 to find Boston’s defensive flaws, but once it did, they won 5-1.

Vincent Lamy scored his first goal in the 10th minute, but for a while, the Impact had a hard time breaking through against a well-organized opponent. Boston scored in the 51st minute.

Substitute Tristan Resendes is the one that scored the goal to give the lead back to Montreal after a few nice dribbles in the box.

Lamy would go on to score three more goals, putting his tally this season to 18 goals in 18 games.

The Impact U19 remains at the top of its group and climbs to second place in the league, behind the New York Red Bulls.
