MONTREAL, Quebec - The Montreal Impact launches Thursday its first mobile app. Developed by Nurun and powered by Videotron, the app comes as an amazing means to enhance the connection between the club and its supporters through social networks.
A first in MLS
Very few Major Soccer League teams have a mobile app, and none of them bring together, in real time, supporter interaction using social networks. This is what the Montreal Impact app does. Using twitter, it shapes a new relationship between the club and its supporters by enabling them to share, in real time, their impressions, photos and emotions via an emotional time-line.
By developing its mobile existence, the Montreal Impact lets its supporters - called La Garde – to get into the action, whether they are watching the game in the stadium, via illico mobile or through TVA Sports.
“We wanted a mobile app that could bring us even closer to our already very active– supporters on social networks. So we created it first and foremost with them in mind » explains Patrick Vallée, communications director of the Montreal Impact. « So it’s a logical continuation of this relationship – a relationship that we have established over the last few years through twitter and Facebook. We want to thank all the people at Videotron and Nurun for all their work and collaboration on the project.”
Available for free on Android and iOS, this app also allows supporters to follow the games with live updates and alerts, to check the season’s calendar and club’s rankings, and to access all of the team’s news, videos and more.
The Impact will regularly organize contests and add new functionalities to the mobile app.
The app is available for free download directly through the QR codes printed on the posters in the Saputo stadium; by visiting //www.impactmontreal.com/mobile; or via the Playstore (for androïd) http://bit.ly/IMFC-PLAYstore and the App Store (for iphone) http://bit.ly/IMFC-APPStore
