After three weeks with no Development Academy games, the U15, U17 and U19 teams were back in action last weekend. Against BW Gottschee Academy on Saturday, the Impact U15 won 2-1, while the two older teams tied 0-0. The day after, the Impact U15 faced New York Soccer Club and won 7-1.
The Impact U15 comes back home with six points
This weekend, the Impact U15 integrated a few Impact U14 players on its roster and the group reacted well with two wins.
In the first game against BW Gottschee, Loic Cloutier (U14) scored off a corner to give the Bleu-blanc-noir a quick lead in the 4th minute.
Gottschee equalized in the 67th minute, but Gabriel Antinoro (U14) scored the winning goal in stoppage time.
The day after, in a 7-1 win, Antinoro scored a brace. Matthew Catavolo also contributed with a hat trick, while Jean-Aniel Assi (U14) and Abdul Binate scored the other goals.
Impact U17 gets the draw
After a tough first half, the Impact U17 created more scoring opportunities in the second half, including two breakaways against the goalkeeper, but it wasn’t able to find the back of the net and came back home with the 0-0 draw.
Goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois and his defense held on to help the Impact U17 earn a fifth clean sheet in 17 games this season.
Impact U19 follows the U17 team
Despite controlling the game, the Impact U19 wasn’t able to score and take the lead in a game that also ended 0-0. Defensively, the team was strong, limiting the opponent to only a few chances on the counter-attack.
