A few days before the game against New York City FC, this Sunday at 5pm, the Impact art contest winner is unveiled and midfielder Calum Mallace is the subject! In an ultra-minimalist style, artist Samuel Bonnefont pictures the 26 year old American with the Bleu-blanc-noir jersey.
“Calum Mallace is a player whom I deeply appreciate, for his play of course (notably for his passing), but also for his style (his slender silhouette, his light hair)”, explains the illustrator. “I naturally wanted to depict this discreet player, who is rarely on the billboards, through the Impact Art contest.”
The Montreal Impact (6-4-8, 26 points, 4th in the East) hosts NYCFC (8-6-6, 30 points, 1st in the East) this Sunday, July 17 at 5pm. This evening will mark a turning point in the friendship between Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard, former teammates at Chelsea, as the pair has never played against one another. Come and seize the IMFC summer as early at 2:30pm on the Stade Saputo turf field!
