MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact Academy will be hosting the second leg of the eastern regional qualifier for the Generation adidas Cup tournament, from October 10 to 14, at the Saint-Jean-Vianney sports complex. All games will be opened to the general public free of charge.
The Generation adidas Cup is a competition run by Major League Soccer for all MLS academy teams. U16 teams of six clubs are participating in the tournament: the Montreal Impact, the New York Red Bulls, D.C. United, the Philadelphia Union, Toronto FC and the Columbus Crew.
As part of the tournament, the Impact U16 will take on D.C. United on the new synthetic field at Stade Saputo on Saturday, October 12, at 12:30pm ET, as a prelude to the first team’s home matchup versus the New England Revolution at 2:30pm ET.
Three of the six teams will move on to the final leg of the tournament, set for Easter weekend, 2014. The remaining teams will take part in a conciliation tournament on the same weekend at the same location, as yet to be determined.
