Last weekend, the three Impact teams in the Development Academy got 12 points on a possibility of 18 with four wins in six games, against the teams from Players Development Academy and Cedar Stars Academy.
The Impact U15 wins its first game
On Saturday, against PDA, the Impact U15 won 3-2.
The opponent scored on a free kick in the 17th minute and the score remained in their favour until halftime.
Back from the locker room, the Bleu-blanc-noir quickly took the lead, with goals from Maximilian Banfi and Denis Razvan Colici in the first 10 minutes of the second half. Goalkeeper Hamadi-Jed Hmida helped his team hang to its lead by saving a penalty in the 52nd minute.
Banfi scored his second a few minutes later, in the 65th minute. PDA scored in the last moments of the game, but the Impact managed to win the game.
The day after, against Cedar Stars Academy, Serge Dinkota’s team lost 2-1.
CSA scored in the first minutes of the game on a quick attack. The visitors then added a second goal in the 64th minute on a counter-attack.
Montreal managed to score in the last minutes of the game when Lucas Bisson, who came in as a substitute, took a shot that found the back of the net.
The Impact U17 falls, but gets back up
Nicolas Gagnon’s U17 team lost 4-3 in their first game, Saturday, against PDA.
After giving up the first goal, the Impact equalized when Cédric Toussaint scored on a powerful kick in the top corner.
PDA scored the next two goals, one at the end of the first half and the other one at the beginning of the second.
Sean Rea and Lundon Durand Browne scored one goal each in the 63rd and 65th minute to set the record straight.
Jonathan Sirois made a few key saves after, but PDA scored the decisive goal in the 89th minute to take the three points.
The day after, with the will to turn the page on the previous game, the Impact U17 won 6-1 against Cedar Stars Academy.
After a missed penalty from the Impact, Montreal found the back of the net twice before halftime, with goals from Moulay Abdallah Kanzi Belghiti and Junior Kabwe.
When they returned from the locker room, Calin Calaidjoglu scored on a back pass from Lundon Durand Browne in the 50th minute. A few minutes later, Calaidjoglu gave a brilliant pass in the back of the defenders for Mouhamadou Kane who scored after dribbling the keeper.
Cedar Stars Academy scored on a shot in the top of the net in the 59th minute, but the Impact kept attacking and Woobens Pacius and Jérémie Omeonga scored to make it 6-1.
Two clean sheets for the Impact U19
In its first game on Saturday, against Players Development Academy, midfielder Calin Calaidjoglu was playing with the U19 team. His offensive contribution helped since he scored the two goals in a 2-0 win. His first was on a 25 metre-shot and the second on a nice combination with Mikale Fontaine.
The day after, against Cedar Stars Academy, the U19 team won 1-0.
In the 20th minute, on a cross from Vincent Lamy, Mikale Fontaine controlled the ball with his chest and Mathieu Choinière took the shot on his first shot.
Choinière had two more good chances before halftime, without finding the back of the net.
In the second half, Vincent Lamy, Tristano Fasulo and Jean-Arnaud Tano all had opportunities to score, but the opposing goalkeeper did a great job in standing in their way.
It’s a sixth straight clean sheet for the Impact U19 and its defence is one of the best in the league with only 16 goals allowed in 21 games.

The three Impact teams will host FC Greater Boston Bolts at Centre Nutrilait on Saturday, May 12.
The U15 team will play at 10am, the U17 at noon and the U19 at 2:30pm. Games are open to the public.
