OTTAWA – The Canadian Soccer Association announced on Friday that four Montreal Impact Academy players – defenders Brandon Phelps (previous club: Halifax City) and Maxime Bourgeois (previous club: Cosmos de Granby), as well as midfielders Sean Rea (previous club: Saint-Leonard) and Nicolas Desjardins (previous club: Blainville) – will take part in the 2017 CONCACAF Boys’ Under-15 Championship in Bradenton, Florida, USA, from August 13 to 19.
The Canadian team will play a minimum of four games and face the United States on August 13, Costa Rica on August 14, and Trinidad and Tobago on August 16.
The four Bleu-blanc-noir players, now with the Impact U17, will be part of a 18-player group who were selected following the Canada Soccer U15 showcase in May 2017, where over 140 players were observed.
When they will be back from Florida, the Impact players will join their team for the last stretch of preparation before the beginning of the Development Academy season, on Saturday, September 2, against Everton FC Westchester, at Centre Nutrilait.
