Originally from Woodbridge, Ontario, the 26-year old forward played seven games, including two starts, with the Impact in 2010, after signing with the team on July 27, 2010. He registered an assist on September 8 against the Puerto Rico Islanders on a goal from Ali Gerba.
“Considering the position we are in right now with a few players injured and our needs to get more offensive punch, he is a good addition to our lineup,” said Impact sporting director Nick De Santis. “Marco did not have the chance to find his momentum last year but we know that he has the ability to get in good areas and to create scoring chances. He will also bring a positive attitude in the dressing room. We know that he will put all the efforts possible to help this team win.”
"I'm happy and excited to be back in Montreal," said Terminesi. "I was treated very well last year and being part of this first class organization again is great. I am confident that this team will turn things around and will make a run into the playoffs. "
A graduate of the University of Louisville, he began his North American second division career with the Minnesota Thunder in 2009. In 17 games and 691 minutes, he scored six goals and added four assists for 16 points.
From 2008 to 2011, he also played indoor soccer with the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Milwaukee Wave, where he was named Rookie of the year and won the playoff championship in 2011.
The team also announced that Impact U21 forward Mircea Ilcu and midfielder Wandrille Lefevre will remain with the first team for the remainder of the year. Ilcu has played four games and 47 minutes of play, while Lefevre took part to only one match so far this season with the pro team.
Team captain Nevio Pizzolitto will be available for tomorrow’s game. His suspension has been lifted after attending the Canadian Soccer Association’s hearing on Monday.
The Impact will face the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, on July 13, at 7:30pm (CKAC Sports, THE TEAM 990, radio-canada.ca/sports). Tickets for this game are still available through Admission Network (admission.com / 514-790-1245) or at Saputo Stadium’s ticketing office.
