MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact Academy announced on Friday many changes in its structure that will be effective immediately.
The age categories will follow the international standards and the changes made in the Development Academy for the next season. The Academy teams will now be the Impact U14 (previously U13), Impact U15 (previously U14), Impact U17 (previously U16) and Impact U19 (previously U18).
The U15 team will enter the Development Academy for the first time in the 2017-2018 season, joining the club’s U17 and U19 teams in this championship.
The three Impact teams will start their season on Saturday, September 2, against Everton FC Westchester, at Centre Nutrilait.
Changes in the technical staff
The technical staff will also see some changes, as Serge Dinkota becomes the Impact U15 head coach, while Eduardo Sebrango will be in charge of the U14s.
Dinkota will lead a group playing in the Development Academy for the first time in his coaching career. He has been head coach of the Impact U13 since the summer of 2014. At 26, the youngest head coach of the Academy is currently doing his Elite Formation Coaching Licence (EFCL), given by the MLS and the Fédération Française de Football. He holds the UEFA B licence and the National B licence.
Philippe Gajevic, previously head coach of the U11 team, was named Pre-Academy coordinator and will be in charge of the structure for the U8 to U12 teams.
Born in Sao Paulo, Brazil – he moved to Canada when he was 11 – Gajevic worked for many years as an executive coach and administrator for the ARS Lac Saint-Louis. He also holds the National B licence.

New Academy website
The Academy website moved and will now be incorporated on the Montreal Impact website at the following address: www.impactmontreal.com/academie.
We can find many rejuvenated sections, like the roster page and the ex-academy players now playing at the professional level. It will also be possible to follow the latest results of the Development Academy teams, as well as their upcoming games.
