CF Montréal protects 12 players ahead of expansion draft

MONTREAL – CF Montréal unveiled on Thursday its list of 12 protected players ahead of St. Louis City SC’s expansion draft taking place this Friday, at 7pm. The draft will be livestreamed HERE.

CF Montréal protected defenders Zachary Brault-Guillard, Alistair Johnston, Kamal Miller and Joel Waterman, midfielders Ismaël Koné, Lassi Lappalainen, Matko Miljevic, Samuel Piette and Joaquin Torres, as well as forwards Kei Kamara, Romell Quioto et Mason Toye.

Homegrown players part of the roster and aged 25 years and younger are automatically excluded from the process. Those players are goalkeepers James Pantemis and Jonathan Sirois, defenders Keesean Ferdinand and Karifa Yao, as well as midfielders Jean-Aniel Assi, Mathieu Choinière, Tomas Giraldo, Sean Rea, Nathan-Dylan Saliba and Rida Zouhir.

The following players are therefore eligible for selection: Zorhan Bassong, Sebastian Breza, Rudy Camacho, Gabriele Corbo, Ahmed Hamdi, Bjorn Johnsen, Logan Ketterer, Jojea Kwizera, Chinonso Offor, Sunusi Ibrahim, Robert Thorkelsson and Victor Wanyama.

St. Louis City SC will select five players in the draft and teams can only lose one player each.
