MONTREAL - After playing the first six games of 2024 on the road, CF Montréal will play its home opener at Stade Saputo against FC Cincinnati this Saturday at 7:30pm (MLS Season Pass, BPM Sports, CJAD 800).

The Montrealers return home with a 2-3-1 record. The Club's next win will be the 150th in its MLS history (149-175-79).

Historically, CF Montréal has a 7-2-3 record in home openers (2012-2023), totaling 22 goals scored and 15 against. In the first match of the season at Stade Saputo, the Club has an all-time record of 6-4-1 (20 goals scored, 18 goals against).

FC Cincinnati arrives in Montreal unbeaten on the road this season (2-0-1), but finally suffered its  first defeat of the year to the New York Red Bulls last Saturday at TQL Stadium (2-1). The reigning 2023 Supporters' Shield holders are still led offensively by midfielder Luciano Acosta, the 2023 Landon Donovan MLS MVP. He leads his club in points with two goals and three assists in seven games played so far.

The Bleu-blanc-noir has an overall record of 3-4-2 against the Ohio side and specifically a 2-2-1 record at home. In the last meeting between the clubs on September 20, Cincinnati managed to salvage a point in a 1-1 draw in which Luciano Acosta scored a stoppage time penalty. Mahala Opoku had opened the scoring for the Montrealers in the 53rd minute.

As part of Montreal’s homecoming, bobblehead figurines of captain Samuel Piette will be distributed to the first 7,500 fans to arrive at Stade Saputo on Saturday when the stadium gates open at 6:00pm. The Club recommends fans arrive early and use public transport to avoid traffic and roadworks around the stadium.
