TORONTO – Back from the international break, CF MontrĂ©al enters the home stretch of the 2026 season by visiting its rivals Toronto FC at BMO Field this Saturday at 1 p.m. EDT (Apple TV, TSN 690).Â
With eight games remaining in the campaign, the Bleu-blanc-noir is five points away from Toronto, who sits 13th in the Eastern Conference. Despite a depleted squad due to international assignments, Philippe Eullaffroy’s squad recorded a 3-1 home win against FC Cincinnati in its last match on Sept. 26 thanks to a brace from Prince Owusu and a goal by Daniel RĂos.Â
CF MontrĂ©al holds an overall record in MLS of 14-17-7 (52 goals scored, 65 goals conceded) against Toronto along with a 5-7-5 (25 goals scored, 31 goals conceded) MLS record when playing in Ontario.Â
The last Canadian Classique matchup was held at Stade Saputo on July 16. Dani Pereira made his CF MontrĂ©al debut, substituting in for Samuel Piette in the 60th minute, as the Montrealers settled for a 0-0 draw.Â
Toronto concluded the month of September with a three-game road stint. Robin Fraser’s squad suffered three consecutive losses during the stint, culminating in a 2-0 shutout against Nashville SC in Music City on Sept. 26.
Prince Owusu remains on the hunt for a Club record. With one more goal, the Ghana international could tie CF Montréal record for most MLS road goals scored in a single season (9). In 2025, he tied Ignacio Piatti’s record set in 2016. Owusu became only the third player in Club history to record back-to-back 10+ goal seasons in MLS, joining Didier Drogba (2015-2016) and Ignacio Piatti (2016-2018).
