As the Canadian Men’s National Team camp closed with a 2-0 over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers of the NASL, three members of the Montreal Impact played important minutes in Tuesday night’s matchup.
Defender Karl W. Ouimette was the only player to go the full 90 minutes in Florida, finishing the game with the captain’s band around his bicep.
Impact U23 midfielder Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé started the second half, winning a ball in the midfield to start the play that resulted in Canada’s second goal of the game.
First team goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau came on in the second half to close out the match and preserve the shutout.
All three players have returned to Montreal for medical and physical testing before the MLS preseason camp kicks off next Monday at the Marie-Victorin Sports Complex.
