MONTREAL – Bologna FC won the fourth edition of the International U14, presented by the Fédération des producteurs d’oeufs du Québec, Sunday afternoon, at Centre Nutrilait, after a 3-0 win against the Montreal Impact.
Christian De Marco provided the win with a hat trick in the second half to help Bologna win its first final of the International U14.
After finishing second of its group, Bologna won its quarterfinal game against Toronto FC in penalties following a 1-1 draw. The Italians then won their semifinal game 6-0 against D.C. United.
“We are happy to have finally won this tournament this year. The players were excellent,” said head coach Francesco Morara. “There was a short period of adaptation, but the players quickly found their usual level.”
To reach the final of the tournament, the Impact finished second of its group, before beating FS Salaberry 1-0 in the quarterfinal and the Chicago Fire 2-0 in the semifinals.

Manuel Rosetti, from Bologna, was named the best player of the tournament, while his teammate Christian De Marco was the best scorer of the competition with seven goals. Impact goalkeeper Jordan Vézina was named the best goalkeeper of the tournament and FS Salaberry won the Fair-play trophy.
