MONTREAL – Montreal Impact midfielder Ballou Tabla was selected to take part in the 2017 MLS Homegrown Game on August 1 at 8pm, at Toyota Park. The young MLS players will face Chivas Guadalajara U20 team, current champions of the U20 Liga MX.

The 18-year-old player scored two goals and added an assist in 13 MLS games this term, including seven starts and 768 minutes. He also found the back of the net once in three Canadian Championship games, including two starts.

Tabla made his MLS debut on March 4 against the San Jose Earthquakes, entering the game as a substitute. He got his first start on April 1 against the Fire in Chicago, where he scored his first MLS goal.

Tabla joined the Montreal Impact Academy in August 2012, before signing his first MLS contract on October 20, 2016.

The 18-player team will be led by head coach Brian McBride and assistant coach Mike Magee, two former MLS players.

The MLS All-Star game will follow the match featuring the stars of the future on Wednesday, August 2, at 9pm EDT, as Real Madrid return to North America, this time at Soldier Field, in Chicago (TVA Sports, TSN).
