Atlanta 1Impact 4

Defender Gabriel Gervais (20th), forward Daniel Antoniuk (22nd), midfielder Antonio Ribeiro (65th) and forward Mauricio Salles (90th) scored for the Impact.

With the win, the Impact climbs into second place in USL D1 standings with 17 points, two points behind the Rochester Raging Rhinos, with one game in hand.

The Impact’s streak without allowing a goal was stopped at 412 minutes when Atlanta midfielder Scott Buete scored at the 33rd minute. It was the first goal allowed by the Impact at home this season.

It was also the second time the Impact scored four goals in a game this season. On May 21, the Impact had blanked the Minnesota Thunder 4-0, at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.

Team captain Mauro Biello, who did not start the game but who was subbed into the match at the 63rd minute, played his 300th career game in the USL D1.

Goalkeeper Andrew Weber started his second consecutive game with the Impact this season and registered a second win. Weber played a strong game, notably stopping David Hayes on a point blank shot at the 64th minute.

Impact goalkeeper Greg Sutton, who suffered a fractured left index finger last Saturday, successfully underwent surgery, Wednesday afternoon, at the Montreal General Hospital. The operation, which lasted 45 minutes, consisted of inserting six metal pins in his finger. A date for his return to play has not been determined yet.

The crowd of 12,215 fans, was the third largest in Impact history for a regular-season game, the fourth in club history. It was also the second time this season the Impact attracted more than 12,000 fans. A crowd of 12,142 was present at the Montreal-Miami match-up, May 28.

POST GAME COMMENTS
HEAD COACH NICK DE SANTIS
"I'm very pleased with the result. Tonight, we showed that we had a lot of depth on the bench since the substitutes who started the game responded very well. Andrew (Weber) played another good game tonight. He proved that good goalkeepers make big saves at the right time. We collected three more important points tonight."

CAPTAIN MAURO BIELLO
"I'm happy with the win tonight. We scored two quick goals in the first half and it set the tone for the game. I think we've really found our rhythm. The confidence on the team is excellent and it's positive. After eight games, we have more points than we had last year at this point."

GOALKEEPER ANDREW WEBER
"We played well for 90 minutes tonight. I was already more comfortable in nets tonight than the game in Toronto. On the goal, the ball bounced off two players and I didn't have a chance to stop it."
