The three Impact teams in the Development Academy were hosting NYCFC at Centre Nutrilait this Saturday, another academy from an MLS club.
This time, the Impact U19 was the only team to win its game, while the U15 and U17 teams lost.
Impact U15 loses 1-0
The Impact U15 fell victim to their own lack of finishing and lost 1-0 for a second straight game.
In the first half, Mouhamadou Kane had a few chances, but couldn’t find the back of the net, while Matthew Catavolo, who created some chances for himself in the second half, was frustrated by a sturdy goalkeeper.
New York scored the only goal on a rare opportunity, in the 62nd minute.
Impact U17 loses 3-1
Nicolas Gagnon’s players had many opportunities to take the lead in the first half.
In the 11th minute, Moulay Abdallah Kanzi Belghiti took a penalty, but it was saved by the goalkeeper. A few minutes earlier, Junior Kabwe crossed the ball into the box twice, but no one could get on the end of it. New York replied immediately with its first goal.
Belghiti made amends before the end of the first half, scoring on a low shot in the opposite corner.
In the second half, the Impact kept attacking, but had difficulties in the final third. New York took advantage of it and scored twice in the last 15 minutes to win 3-1.
Impact U19 wins 2-0
This clash between two unbeaten teams had the potential to be a great matchup and for the occasion, many fans came to support the Bleu-blanc-noir.
In the 29th minute, Raphaël Garcia’s cross in the box found Vincent Lamy who scored on a header.
The second half was much tougher, but inspired by the chants of supporters, the Impact defenders sacrificed themselves on many occasions to block shots and goalkeeper Jordan Tisseur made some great saves.
In stoppage time, Clément Bayiha scored with a shot between the legs of the goalkeeper.
Next games
The three teams will be back in action this Sunday, at Centre Nutrilait, when they host BW Gottschee, who is in excellent position in the standings at the U15 and U17 level.
The Impact U15 will play at 10am, the U17 team at noon and the U19 team at 2:30pm. All games will be open to the public and free of charge.
