The Impact Academy USSDA teams played a double header this past weekend, with the U18s winning both its contests while the U16s fell in its first game before rebounding to earn a point in its second game.
On Saturday, the U18s topped the Oakwood Soccer Club in Portland, Connecticut, by a 2-1 score, with goals coming from Charles Joly and Charles-Olivier Haguette, while the U16s fell by a 2-1 score. Jimmy Shammar Sanon found the back of the net for the Impact in that loss.
Then on Sunday, the U18s repeated their feat, earning a second 2-1 victory, this time over South Central Premier in Bridgeport, Connecticut, while the U16s fought for a 2-2 draw. Jérémy Gagnon-Laparé and Louis Beland-Goyette scored for the elder side, while David Choinière netted one home for the younger group and an own goal completed the scoring.
“It was a positive weekend as a whole,” said Impact U18 head coach Jason DiTullio. “Back-to-back games are always difficult, especially on the road. We used all 18 players for the two games. Everyone was involved and contributed and we worked hard, positive results. Our priority is always to play well within our philosophy, and when we do that, the results usually come our way.”
