The U18 and U16 Impact Academy teams were back on the field for the USSDA season, as they travelled to face Albertson SC Saturday morning.
Both teams scored first in their game. For the U18, it was an own goal after a free kick from Louis-Philippe Paquin, while the U16’s Protais Mutambala scored the goal.
Unfortunately, neither team were able to hold on to the lead as Alberston came back from behind to get a tie in both games.
“The content of the game was interesting, with good collective control and good series of play that led to many opportunities,” said the U18 head coach Yoann Damet. “Unfortunately, we didn’t score and paid for managing the weaker times near the end of the game badly. We start a new week with the satisfaction of being able to cause problems to an opponent when we speed up the sequences and create situations of numerical superiority. We will use this first game to keep working.”
It was the first official USSDA game for coaches Yoann Damet and Nicolas Gagnon with their new groups.
“I’m happy to be back, in-season, with the group,” added Damet. “The USSDA is a demanding league where every team fights, as we saw this weekend. The end of the season will be really interesting for the group, which keeps getting more experience.”
Judo for the U11 and U12
Last weekend, the U11 and U12 Pre-Academy teams let the soccer balls at home and went on the tatami mats for some judo. This type of activity is regularly organized for the club’s youth teams to help with the motor development of the players, while pushing them to come out of their comfort zone.
