USSDA
Last week, it wasn’t only the Montreal Impact’s first team that shone on the field. The Impact U16 and U18 teams also got the best of their opponents, Everton FC Westchester, in USSDA competition.
The U18s won their game by a 3-0 score line, with a brace from Badreddine Boulajoul and the other goal from Gabriel Balbinotti.
As for the U16s, they won 1-0 with a goal by Mathieu Choinière.
“We started well,” said Impact U16 head coach Wilfried Nancy. “Our first half was interesting with good intentions in the play and we wanted to be more patient in the second half, taking more time to manage our opponent, because our play was too vertical and after, we scored. Then we had a player ejected for the last 20 minutes, but I liked the players’ reaction”.
FC Montreal
FC Montreal ended its season in mid-September, but last week, individual honours were given to players at the end of year team gala.
Winger Alessandro Riggi won the MVP and Best Scorer titles with nine goals and two assists. Defender Zachary Sukunda was the player with the most minutes and shared Best Defender with Janouk Charbonneau. Finally, Frédéric Lajoie-Gravelle ended the season as the player with the most assists with four for his team.
