The club’s U18 team once again showed its fighting spirit.
After conceding two quick goals to start the game, the team took control and scored six unanswered goals to win 6-2 against FC Boston Bolts. Badreddine Boulajoul scored four and Jimmy-Shammar Sanon scored twice.
“We started off slowly without defending properly in the back, but then the guys woke up,” said interim U18 head coach Simon Gatti. “We had most of the ball and created chances. But when we scored, the floodgates opened. I think the squad is confident, they know they can score.”
The U16 team earned a clean sheet with a 2-0 win. Olujimi Aribido and Protais Mutambala scored the goals for the Bleu-blanc-noir.
These two wins put the Impact teams in good position for the playoffs as both are in second place in the Northeast division.
Before the first game of the day, players and technical staff of both teams honoured the memory of the victims of the Paris attacks, which happened the previous day, with a moment of silence.
Their next games will be played at the beginning of December as both Impact teams will fly to Florida to play three matches in just four days as part of the USSDA showcase.
“The showcase is a great event because we get to play teams in the West, where soccer is also very good,” added Gatti. “We will have to be sharp. We can’t give up goals in the first minutes or we will be in trouble.”
