A total of 23 new players have joined the Impact Academy this following its third and final round of detections that took place on January 17. These new players will officially join the sport-etudes program in August 2015.


Four players will be joining the U16 team, three will be added to the U14s, while 16 players will join the Impact U13s, including no less than eight players developed through the club’s Pre-Academy program in 2014.

Several players from the Maritimes, as well as Ontario, participated in the tryouts and have secured their place within the Academy.


Subject to validation of their academic records, here is a list of our future sport-etudes members with the Montreal Impact Academy:

The Pre-Academy Detections: February 14 and 15

It is still possible to register for the Pre-Academy tryouts (U8 to U12 teams, players born between 2003 and 2007), which will take place on February 14 and 15 at Stade Hébert. All residents within a 20km radius of Stade Saputo may register online at a cost of $25 before February 9 at noon:

Academy back to work

In preparation for its first season in USL Pro, the U23 team was put through physical and medical testing to open camp. The team then played its first two preseason matches. Lead by head coach Philippe Eullaffroy, IMFC blanked the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières 2-0, on January 25, following goals from Charles Joly and Nazim Belguendouz. Then the U23 group played the Université de Laval to a 1-1 draw last Sunday. Jems Geffrard scored the only goal for the Academy in the first half.


The Impact U18 and U16 also continued their winter preparation with various activities such as volleyball, weight training, kick boxing and cycling at Énergie Cardio.


The U16 team experienced the extraordinary when it took on the pro team, last Saturday at Olympic Stadium in front of a crowd. This match was used to help the first team in its preparation during preseason, and also reinforced the sense of belonging as well as unity within the club. This Friday afternoon, the U18s will get their chance to rub shoulders with the MLS players. The USSDA regular season resumes on March 7 against Albertson.


Terrebonne for the U13s and U14s

The U14s and U13s took part in the Terrebonne Soccer Festival on January 24 and 25. The U14 entered the tournament with a record of two wins and two draws, while the U13s posted a record of 1-1-2. The next challenge for the U13s will be the Mauro Biello Festival, a tournament organized by the Impact Academy and held at the Complexe sportif Marie-Victorin this weekend.


Pre-Academy played Lac Saint-Louis tournament

All the Bleu-blanc-noir Pre-Academy teams participated in the Lac Saint-Louis tournament, held on January 24 and 25. The Impact will be playing in the Lac Saint-Louis winter indoor league until the end of March.
