The Impact U18 and U16 team will host Seacoast United this Saturday at Saint-Jean-Vianney Complex, with the older group set to take the field at 11:30am (ET) while the younger squad will kickoff at 1pm (ET). The game is open to the public and admission is free of charge.
This will be the first time the Impact plays at home since the second half of the season (winter break) restarted. The last time the youth teams played at Saint-Jean-Vianney was back on October 28 versus Albertson FC.
The Impact U18 sits in 7th place in the Northeast division, two ahead of Seacoast United, while the reverse is true for the U16s in the standings.
“I’m anxious for the game this weekend,” said Impact U16 head coach Simon Gatti. “We’ve had some tough results in the league play, but we played really well in a friendly last week, winning 6-1, so I’m looking forward to see how the boys are going to react in the USSDA after that result, hopefully gaining some momentum for the final stretch of the season.”
The Impact Academy teams were scheduled to play against the New England Revolution youth sides last Saturday, but the games were cancelled due to an accumulation of snow on the field.
Impact U21 on the road again
The Impact U21 team play this Sunday on the road against the University of Vermont at 1pm (ET), following a two-week break after opening their season on the road.
The U21s played to a draw and a loss on opening weekend, tying Rhode Island University 2-2 on April 5 before falling 1-0 to the University of Massachusetts on April 7.
The team will then host its first home game at Saint-Jean-Vianney Complex on Saturday, May 4, against Dartmouth University.
