1994 Impact edition players will match up against Liverpool and Manchester United Legends

Formatted under Masters Football rules, the three teams will face off in a round robin format. The two teams with the best record from the round robin will advance to the final. Playing on a hockey rink-sized surface with boards and boasting quick 10 minute halves with six players per side, this promises an evening of high-action international-calibre soccer.

The Manchester United squad will feature players from that incredible night at the Nou Camp in Barcelona when the club won its 2nd UEFA Champions League. The team will count on the multiple English Premier League Winning strike force duo of Dwight Yorke and Andrew Cole.

Liverpool will be led by the irresistible Steve McManaman, the 1st English player to win two European Titles. Tasked with stopping the free flowing Yorke and Cole April 1st will be one of Liverpool’s most popular players in club history, Bruce Grobbelar. A player most famously remembered for his overtime penalty shoot-out heroics that secured the club its 4th European title.

Since 1993, the Montreal Impact has been one of the most decorated soccer teams in North America. Players having highly contributed to the club’s successes throughout the years will compose the Impact alumni team. Fans can expect to see several key players that helped the Impact capture their first championship title in 1994, including Lloyd Barker, Mauro Biello, Paulo Ceccarelli, Nick Dasovic, Nick De Santis, John Limniatis and Grant Needham.

“It will be really special to get the chance to play with former teammates,” declared Nick De Santis, who will both play for and coach the Impact during that event. “It will be very exciting to take part in a tournament with legends from these two clubs and I’m honoured to represent the Impact. We will do our best to live up to the expectations.”

Tickets will be on sale this Saturday, February 20 at 9 am at the Bell Centre ticket office, by phone at 514-790-2525 or 1-977-668-8269, or on the web at www.geg.ca .
