18 Impact games on CKAC

CKAC 730 will broadcast five road games, starting with the double-header in Puerto Rico, against the Islanders, April 29 and May 1, when Montreal will kick off the 2005 season and defend its First Division United Soccer Leagues championship title.

In 2005, CKAC will broadcast 13 of 14 Impact home games, including the 12th home opener on Sunday May 29 against the Rochester Raging Rhinos along with the two home games "away from home": the August 14th match-up against the Puerto Rico Islanders in Quebec City and the August 28th game against the Rochester Raging Rhinos in Sherbrooke.

“CKAC opened the door for the Impact on French radio and we are very happy to be back with the station," said Montreal Impact president Joey Saputo. "CKAC is also a reference in sports and for us, it was a natural partnership.”

“CKAC-RadiomĂ©dia wants to have an important place on Montreal’s and Quebec’s sports scene,” said CKAC programming director Michel Tremblay. “The conclusion of this third deal with the Impact is part of that goal. Also, we are pleased to be associated with the Impact, a winning team on the field and in the stands.”

The Voice of the Montreal Impact on CKAC will once again be Philippe Germain, who will team-up with former Impact head coach, Valerio Gazzola, as analyst. CKAC will also cover the Impact’s activities through its sports department throughout the season.

Other than the games on CKAC, 14 Impact games will also be broadcast on English station CJAD and two will be televised on Fox Sports World, meaning that 21 of 28 Impact games this season will be broadcast either on radio or television.

Furthermore, fans will be able to follow some of the Impact’s non-broadcast games on the web, notably: the games in Portland June 30 (KXMG/KZNY), in Charleston July 30 (WTMZ 910 AM), in Seattle September 9 (KKNW - 1150 AM) and in Vancouver September 11 (Team 1040 AM).
