MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact will have a very prestigious guest at its new training centre this summer as Spanish powerhouse and 2015-16 UEFA Champions League winner Real Madrid will kick off its training camp in Montreal, from July 17 to July 26.

Head coach Zinédine Zidane and his men will be in town to prepare for the International Champions Cup, which begins on July 23 at selected venues in the United States. The Spanish club’s training sessions will be closed to the general public.

“We’re extremely proud and delighted that the most decorated team in the world has chosen our facility for its preparation,” said Montreal Impact President Joey Saputo. “It truly speaks of the quality of our facilities, and we’re thrilled that it places Montreal on the forefront of the international soccer scene.”

This isn’t the first time that Montreal’s new training centre, located on Letourneux Street in the East end of Montreal, plays host to an international soccer club.

Last summer, legendary English club Chelsea FC also chose the Impact’s facilities as base for its North American training camp.
