Friendly between the Montreal Impact and Olympique Lyonnais will be televised on TVA Sports July 24!

MONTREAL, June 8, 2012 – With just a few days left until the first game ever at the revamped Stade Saputo, TVA Sports, the Impact’s official broadcast partner and the club announced on Friday that the international friendly on July 24 versus Olympique Lyonnais will be televised; start time 7 :30pm.


TVA Sports’ team of experts composed of Frédéric Lord (play-byplay), Oliver Brett (analyst), Elizabeth Rancourt and Antonio Ribeiro (sideline), will be covering this event. Please note that this game has been added to the 22 other regular season games presented by TVA Sports over the 2012 season.


Founded in 1950, Olympique Lyonnais is one of the most successful teams in France. The club won seven consecutive championships, a national record, from the 2001-2002 season to 2007-2008.


“This should be an exciting matchup. Like the fans already know, Olympique is one of the most successful teams in France. French Cup champions in 2012, the club has won the league title on seven occasions and the French Cup five time. As such, we’ll be treated to some very high level soccer on July 24,” said TVA Sports general director, Hugues Léger.”

Tickets are available, with prices ranging from $20 to $85 (tax included, service charges applicable), the same as for regular season individual tickets for Impact games, via the admission network (1-855-790-1245 / admission.com).  Group rates are also available by contacting the club.

About the Impact

The Montreal Impact is the city’s professional soccer team. The club came to be in 1993 and now has four teams under its umbrella (pros, Under-21, Under-18 and Under-16), as well as its own sport-etudes program.
