Four players selected by the Canadian national team

Octavio Zambrano calls up Jackson-Hamel, Piette, Choinière and Pantemis
MONTREAL – Striker Anthony Jackson-Hamel, midfielders Samuel Piette and David Choinière, as well as goalkeeper James Pantemis have been called up by the Canadian national team to take part in an upcoming training camp that will conclude with an international friendly against Jamaica, on Saturday, September 2, at BMO Field, in Toronto.
The four players will join the national team on August 28, following the Impact’s MLS regular season game against Toronto FC.
Jackson-Hamel, 24, has two goals and one assist in seven games with the Canadian national team, making his senior debut in a friendly game against Mauritania on October 6, 2016. He appeared in three games at the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. He scored his first international goal on January 22, 2017, in a friendly against Bermuda. He previously played five games for the Canadian U23 national team, including four starts, in the 2015 CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Tournament.
Piette, 22, has recorded two assists in 35 games with the Canadian national team, including 21 starts. He made his senior debut with the Reds at the age of 17, on June 3, 2012, against the United States. He recently took part in the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup, starting all four games during the tournament. He had previously played in the 2013 and 2015 editions, while also appearing in several 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification games. He also represented Canada at the U17, U20 and U23 levels and played in the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup in Mexico.
Choinière, 20, has received his first invitation with the senior team, after playing with the Canadian U15, U16, U18 and U20 national teams, making his debut in 2012 at 15 years of age.
Goalkeeper James Pantemis, 20, who trains with the Impact first team, is returning after receiving his first invitation with the senior team for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup training camp, last May.
