MONTREAL – FC Montreal faces Saint Louis FC on Wednesday at 5pm on the synthetic field at Stade Saputo.

The Bleu-blanc-noir is back on the field only four days after finding its second win of the season, a 4-2 victory against the Pittsburgh Riverhounds in which forward Anthony Jackson-Hamel scored a brace, on top of goals by winger Alessandro Riggi and midfielder Marco Dominguez. It was the first time this season Montreal scored four goals during a game.

“We proved that progress has been made. We also showed that our control of the game is improving,” said head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. “This progress translates into positive results. Now, we have to keep seeing progress throughout the second half of the season. We are now better offensively, and it comes from the way we control the game. Now, we should have more chances to score. That’s what we want to see against Saint Louis.”

Beyond this positive result, in the last few games, the team started to find a groove after the first half of the season.

“It goes beyond the last win, its 2-3 games in a row where we played well,” explained defender Zachary Sukunda. “We are confident. In the last game, we scored a goal right from the beginning. It’s time for us to blossom, we have more experience and we play well.”

For the first time this season, FC Montreal will face Saint Louis FC. The team from the State of Missouri is in 8th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-6-6. Saint Louis is one of the only teams that has had more success on the road (3-1-3) then at home this season (1-5-3).
