Evan Bush back in the box

Evan Bush Canadian Championship Toronto FC

Impact goalkeeper Evan Bush is the very definition of professionalism.

The 2011 NASL Golden Glove winner with the Impact has been the number two man between the posts during regular season play, but again will be the starter in Canadian Championship play. And he never complains.

“He’s worked hard and has shown that he can play in big games,” said Impact head coach Frank Klopas. “He showed that last year and I have confidence in him. It’s moments like this where he’s earned opportunities. He’s been sharp all year and he’s ready.”

This time around, his opportunity comes with a title in his back pocket, after helping the Impact win the ACC last season, going 1-1-2, with two shutouts and a goal-against-average of just 1.00, despite playing just one game in MLS play in 2013.

“It’s good to get back on the field,” said Bush. “It’ll be exciting for me. I approach every day the same way; I go to training to work hard and try to get playing time. I feel like I’m at good level in training and in comparison to other goalkeepers in this league, so that gives me confidence. I have a good relationship with both Troy [Perkins] and Maxime [Crépeau] and we push each other every day.”
