CF Montréal 2022 schedule unveiled

MONTREAL – CF Montréal and MLS unveiled Wednesday the full 2022 MLS season schedule, presented by BMO, set to begin February 27 and concluding October 9. CF Montréal will once again play 34 matches comprised of 17 home and 17 away games. All games will be televised on TVA Sports as well as radio broadcast on 91.9 Sports and TSN 690.

After having played its home-and-away Champions League Round of 16 matches in February, CF Montréal will kick off its regular MLS season Sunday, February 27, in Orlando at 1pm. The Club’s home opener will then be held Saturday, March 5 at 4pm at the Olympic Stadium against the Philadelphia Union. Montreal’s third match of the season will be on the road Saturday, March 12 at 1pm, at New York City FC, for the defending MLS Cup champion’s home opener.

Five of the Club’s six first games will be played on the road, while seven of the following 10 matches will be held at Stade Saputo. Montreal will play a total of 22 games on Saturdays, five on Sundays, four on Wednesdays, as well as one game apiece on a Friday, Monday and Tuesday. Please also note 14 of the 17 fixtures hosted in Montreal will be played on a Saturday. In addition, at the end of May, all matches at Stade Saputo will be evening kickoffs until the end of the season.

CF Montréal will face all Eastern Conference clubs twice throughout the season as well as eight matches against Western Conference opponents.

The first game at Stade Saputo will be played Saturday, April 16, at 3pm against Vancouver.

The first rivalry match against Toronto FC will be on Saturday, July 16, at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo, while the second meeting between the sides will be in Toronto on Sunday, September 4 at 7:30pm.

Please also note CF Montréal will host expansion club Charlotte FC on Saturday, June 25 at 7:30pm, while reigning MLS champion New York City FC will be in Montreal on Saturday, July 30 at 7:30pm. Montreal’s regular season will conclude Sunday, October 9 in Miami, on MLS Decision Day.

2022 season tickets are currently on sale, starting at $35 per month, including all regular season home matches. All 2022 Members will receive tickets to the first Champions League match in Montreal. On November 5, MLS announced the forthcoming season format and a new conference redistribution. In order to better align with the 2022 international soccer calendar, the MLS regular season will therefore begin earlier than ever before. Following three consecutive weeks of playoff matches, MLS Cup will be played Saturday, November 5, 2022, crowning a league champion just over two weeks prior to the 2022 FIFA World Cup which is set to begin November 21 in Qatar, and more than a week before the November 14 player release date fixed by FIFA. MLS also confirmed that Charlotte FC will compete in the Eastern Conference, while Nashville SC will move to the Western Conference, thus balancing the conferences with 14 clubs each.
