WINDSOR 0 IMPACT U21 5

Striker Mircea Ilcu scored a hat trick (7th, 42nd and 53rd minute), as well as midfielders Alessandro Riggi (22nd) and Chris-Michel Rumuri (81st) scored the five goals for the Impact U21, while goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu registered the shutout.

“It was good, but it could have been better," said Impact U21 head coach Philippe Eullaffroy. "I think that we could have managed the game offensively in a better way, especially in the second half. We had some opportunities to show other things about our quality.”

The Impact U21 opened the scoring in the 7th minute of play. After being fouled in the 18-yard box, forward Mircea Ilcu obtained a penalty kick and beat Windsor goalkeeper Anthony Santilli with a low shot to his left.

After taking advantage of a counter-attack in the 22nd minute, Ilcu passed the ball to his right to midfielder Alessandro Riggi who took a shot from the 18-yard box, beating Windsor goalkeeper to his left.

Forward Mircea Ilcu was brilliant again in the 42nd minute. Taking a pass from midfielder Félix Cardin, Ilcu went on a breakaway and shot from the 18-yard box, beating goalkeeper Anthony Santilli on his right.

Ilcu scored his third goal of the game in the 53rd minute. After accepting a pass from midfielder Wandrille Lefevre, he beat goalkeeper Justin Denalon, who entered the game after the halftime, with a low shot on his right.

Midfielder Chris-Michel Rumuri scored the fifth goal of the Academy in the 81st minute of play. Recovering the ball in the 18-yard box, he took a low shot and beat goalkeeper Denalon on his right.

The Impact U21 will play its next match versus the Capital City FC on Sunday, June 19 at 1pm at the Marie-Victorin Sports Complex.
