Impact's last two games of the season are sold out

Team management announced Friday that no more tickets were available for the match-ups.

“Our great crowds are a reflection of the passion Montreal and Quebec fans have for soccer,” said Impact Vice President Sales, Marketing and Operations John Di Terlizzi. “People are attending our games in greater and greater numbers and that’s very positive. Our fans recognize the club’s success on and off the field and they increasingly identify with our team and our soccer.”

Montreal’s last four home games were played in front of over 13,000 spectators, a first in the club’s history. The Impact has also set a new attendance record for a home regular-season match-up on three occasions this season. The record now stands at 13,450 and it was set on August 9 against the Rochester Raging Rhinos.

So far this season, the Impact has played before an average of 11,754 spectators per game at Claude-Robillard Sports Complex.

The overall attendance record for an Impact game was set on September 18, 2004, as 13,648 fans attended the championship game against the Seattle Sounders.

Since the club was relaunched in 2002, attendance has always been on the rise, with an average of 5,174 spectators per game in 2002, 7,236 fans in 2003, 9,279 in 2004, and 11,176 in 2005.

With five regular-season games to play, the Impact still leads United Soccer Leagues First Division standings with 43 points. The Impact is only two points away from clinching a playoff spot.

The Impact will play its next game on Wednesday against the Lynx in Toronto (7:30 pm, CJAD 800, Sport Plus XM-172.
