Classic matchup vs. Toronto FC in the Amway Canadian Championship

MONTREAL – Following yesterday’s unveiling of the MLS schedule, the Canadian Soccer Association announced on Friday the schedule for the 9th Amway Canadian Championship.

Following the 2015 MLS season, the Impact (2nd seed) will face Toronto FC (3rd) in the tournament semi-final on Wednesday June 1st at BMO Field in Toronto, then on Wednesday, June 8 at Stade Saputo.

In the other semi-final series, Vancouver (1st) will face the winner of the preliminary round between Edmonton and Ottawa (4th), two NASL teams.

The first leg of the final will be played on June 21st or 22nd and the second leg will be played on June 28th or 29th. The winner will reach the 2017-2018 CONCACAF Champions League.

The Impact won the first edition of the tournament in 2008, as well as in 2013 and 2014. The last title led the team to the Champions League final against Mexican club América.
