MONTREAL – As part of Pride Week celebrations, CF Montréal is pleased to host its annual Pride game this Saturday at 7:30pm at Stade Saputo against Inter Miami CF, a match presented by Allstate.
CF Montréal is proud to participate in this year’s celebrations once again. The Club aims to highlight diversity in all its forms and use its platform as an active ally to support and raise awareness about societal issues facing members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community in addition to lending its voice and resources.
Like its city, Montreal's soccer community is uniquely diverse in North America. As a leader, CF Montréal firmly adheres to those values and wishes to emphasize the importance of inclusion at Stade Saputo and everywhere the Club is present.
For the occasion, BMO is inviting fans to take pictures of rainbows that will be displayed throughout the stadium and share them with https://www.bmorainbowdeposits.com. Since the beginning of June, BMO is donating $1 to Rainbow Railroad for each photo displayed in their rainbow gallery, but this amount will be increased to $5 per photo on Saturday.
Rainbow Railroad is a global not-for-profit organization that helps LGTBQ+ people facing persecution based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and sex characteristics. In a time when there are more displaced people than ever before, LGBTQ+ people are uniquely vulnerable due to systemic homophobia and transphobia. Thanks to Rainbow Railroad, more LGBTQ+ people are achieving a life free from persecution.
In addition, both pre-game and match jerseys will include Pride colors. Montreal’s captain will also wear a rainbow-coloured armband while the signage and corner flags will be similarly themed. The 1642MTL supporter group will also display the theme through various initiatives. A rainbow tattoo booth will be set up in the Soccer Celebration Zone. Finally, the Olympic Stadium tower will be lit in Pride colours.
